Spring Chinook fishing continues to be fair in Tillamook Bay with moderate numbers of fish getting caught both in lower bay as well as in the upper bay near the Memaloose boat ramp and even up into the Trask and Tillamook tidewater channels. Fish are stacking up in the upper bay waiting to migrate into the rivers and fresh fish are still coming in. Trolling herring is a go-to technique for the lower bay, especially out by the jetty's while in the upper bay spinners, plugs, and bobber fishing can also be effective.
Trout season opened in the rivers and bays on May 22nd. It's still a little early but sea-run cutthroat trout should be starting to show up in the bay. Last updated 6/9/25.
Fishing for rockfish, kelp greening, ling cod, and surf perch can be decent near the mouth of the bay this time of year. This fishery is accessible by boat or off the North Jetty.
