Best bets for weekend fishing:
Coastal fall salmon seasons continue and in some exciting news for anglers, wild coho seasons have been extended in the Alsea, Siletz and Yaquina Rivers. Check in season regulations for dates.
Summer steelhead runs are still on in the Nestucca and Wilson Rivers.
Fall is great time to fish the Crooked and Metolius Rivers.
Cascade hike-in lakes offer beauty, serenity and the potential for untrammeled fishing opportunities.
Anglers report excellent trout fishing in Crooked River.
Fishing for Brook Trout in the Upper Sycan, Upper NF Sprague, Upper SF Sprague, Long Creek, Sevenmile and Upper Williamson will be exceptional.
October is the final month for anglers to enjoy Crane Prairie, the Metolius Arm of Lake Billy Chinook, the Metolius River above Allingham Bridge, Odell, and Wickiup before seasonal closures go into effect.

Know before you go:
E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area shotgun range closed for renovations through October. The archery park and other facilities in the wildlife area remain open.
Hunter Education:
Hunter safety courses and field days are offered in-person or online, with an in-person field day. Find a course in your area.
For adults: Upland game bird and waterfowl workshops and events are happening in your area. Improve your hunting performance and build confidence in the field. Alsea River: Coho often enter into the systems ready to bite
Kilchis River: Find resident coastal cutthroat trout throughout the basin and the Kilchis River
Necanicum River: Fall Chinook fishing is still slow in the Necanicum
Nehalem River: The Nehalem Fall Chinook fishing is fair right now with fish being caught consistently throughout the bay
Nestucca River: Fall Chinook are showing up in Nestucca Bay and some fish are getting caught
Salmon River: Fall Chinook is open on the Salmon River!
Siletz River: Fish have started moving lower in the system and trolling through the lower river often leads to best results
Siuslaw River: The Siletz has had a decent catch so far, with folks having some success in the lower river
Three Rivers: Fall Chinook fishing remains fair in Tillamook Bay
Trask River: This week's rain probably brought a few fish into the lower river, but numbers will still be low until we get more water

Yaquina River: Overall for both coho and Chinoook its been a slow start to the season
Crane Prairie Reservoir: Anglers report much improved trout fishing and excellent bass fishing at Crane Prairie
Fall River: Fall River below Fall River Falls closed to angling for the season on October 1
Lake Billy Chinook: The Metolius Arm of Lake Billy Chinook will close to angling on October 31
Ochoco Reservoir: The reservoir is 57 percent full
Prinevile Reservoir: The reservoir is 56 percent full
