With the onset of warmer weather, bass fishing may be good on the lower Grande Ronde River downstream to the state boundary. Anglers are reminded that bull trout and Chinook salmon may be encountered in the Grande Ronde River and must be released unharmed.

Steelhead fishing will open on the Grande Ronde River on Sept. 1. Relatively few steelhead have passed Lower Granite Dam so far this year so steelhead fishing will probably be slow for several weeks after it opens. Anglers are reminded that wild steelhead cannot be harvested and must be released.
