Lake of the Woods was stocked this week with rainbow trout. Fishing should be good from a boat. Catching these fish from shore is more challenging. Trolling smalls spoons is your best bet. Rainbow will typically hold at 15 feet when water temperatures get hot.

For recent fishing updates call the Lake of the Woods resort at 1-866-201-4194 (option 4).

The lake is dominated by stunted yellow perch. Very small bait and hooks will catch these fish. Fishing for brown bullhead should be very good with a worm on the bottom especially at night.

Largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing should remain good The crappie fishery has really taken off here.

You can also visit Lake of the Wood's website to observe current conditions at the lake. Click on the front of this link. Once on the website scroll down and click on the right-side video link for a live video of current conditions on the lake at the Lodge.
