We are excited to introduce the improvements that have recently been made to the park's RAINBOW COVE facility on the east side of Bear Lake, off of Cisco Road.
Utah State Parks has just completed the first phase of construction in this area. The details of this phase of the project are as follows:
1 - Relocated and improved the access off of Cisco Road into the facility.
2 - Improved access to the launch ramp.
3 - Improved the parking for vehicles with boat trailers. These areas are to the south of the launch ramp. One parking lot is paved while the other is gravel.
4 - Created a gravel Day Use parking area to the north side of the launch ramp.
5 - Developed 26 individual campsites in the SUNSET campground. Each with a shade shelter, picnic table and a fire ring. Vault restrooms are available.
6 - Created a new access to the beach area at the north end of the facility. This area has a sandy beach and a gravel parking lot. This is a beach area that has had minimal access in the past.
When additional construction funding gets allocated to this area, the plans are to:
1 - Develop and distribute drinking water. Each campsite is planned to have a water hook-up.
2 - Bring electricity into the facility. Each campsite is planned to have an electric hook-up.
3 - Develop an advanced sewage management system. This will include 3 RV sewage dump stations and full restrooms in the campground with flush toilets and showers.
4 - Develop the upper loop road in the campground which will add an additional 32 individual campsites and 2 group campsites.
5 - Pave the park roads, parking lots, and vehicle parking areas for each campsite.
6 - We'll plant some trees in the area too.
