Action: Opens Lake Sammamish for Chinook retention. The daily limit is two Chinook, and minimum size is 12 inches.

Effective dates: Sept. 22 through Nov. 30, 2023.

Species affected: Chinook.

Location: Lake Sammamish (King County).

Reasons for action: Fish counts at Issaquah Hatchery and Ballard Locks indicate the Chinook return is strong enough to support a recreational fishery in Lake Sammamish.

Additional Information: Coho retention in Lake Sammamish will be allowed starting Oct. 1 as published in the 2023/24 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.

Information Contact: Mill Creek Regional Office, 425-775-1311.
